After School Tutoring Program

After School Tutoring Program

Our Goal

To provide efficient tutoring services to students of all ages to the community that we support.  Our goal is to enhance academic achievement through the completion of a student’s school work, the furthering of knowledge through learning activities/worksheets, and the development of confidence, responsibility, and enjoyment towards learning within an education-focused environment.

I really enjoy helping [the students] with their studies, especially when they’re excited to learn and do well in school. Seeing these kids improve over time has been such a reward, and I hope to see that they’ll go onto greater things in the future. – Cecilia Tran, Volunteer Tutor

Volunteer tutors are asked to help students complete all or a majority of their daily homework as well as any incomplete homework.  After homework is completed, extra study time can be used to do worksheets, activities, or reading to help strengthen a student’s skills in whatever subjects.  Volunteer tutors encourage all students’ independency, confidence, enjoyment, and responsibilities towards their academics. All tutors are dedicated to building relationships with the students and helping them succeed.

The After School Tutoring program is offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3pm to 6pm. We run on a 10-week quarter system in the fall, winter, and spring. Helping Link also offers a Summer Youth Program which begins in July.
